Abbots Road are setting the pace in Division Two of the Leicester & District League.

They landed a 6-4 win over Taxes with each of their players scoring two points.

But the man of the match was Taxes' Bruce Johnson who recorded a fine maximum.

Birstall are second following an 8-2 win over third-placed Electricity.

Full scores from Ian Whetherly and Jason Woodfield helped Syston to an 8-2 victory over County Hall. In Division Three, Great Glen seconds were pipped 6-4 by Abbots Road who clinched success in the doubles.

Glen's third team also suffered defeat, 7-3 to Knighton Park fourths for whom Adil Rashid led the way with a maximum supported by doubles from Jake Crocker and Gordon Sanders.

A Paul Weston maximum and Malcolm Woodfield and John Henshaw doubles helped Syston to an 8-2 victory over Knighton Park's sixth team.

Paul Webster recorded a maximum and Dave Silvester a double before they teamed up for a doubles success in Electricity fourth's 6-4 victory over Desford Village.

Nomads and Knighton Park's fifth team were locked in a close match with Park edging to a 6-4 victory.

Maximums from Chris Woodward and Dave Cox led Electricity to a 8-2 win at Regents Sports.

In Division Five, County Hall's third string thrashed Abbots Road by the maximum score, Jeffrey Jarvis setting the pace with a straight maximum and being ably supported by Lee Measures and Rob Reeves.

The two Knighton Park line-ups clashed with an 8-2 win for the 11th team over the ninths. Veer Thakkar recorded a maximum and had a share in the doubles victory.

Park's fifth team drew with Blaby, Glenys Odams recording a maximum for Park.

Honours were also shared in the clash between Park's 10th team and Desford fourths, Conner Wilde proving the player of the match with a hard-fought maximum.

A Chetan Tailor maximum helped Police to gain a share of the points against Nomads.

Maximums for Mike Pratt and Gillian Wisdish helped Desford to beat Abbots Road fifths 7-3.

Magna Travellers were 8-2 winners at Taxes, Nigel Dunford leading the way with a maximum.
