Talented young musicians all set to be celebrated during concert

SOUTH WIGSTON: A "Talented Youth" concert will take place at South Wigston High School and Arts College, on Thursday, April 22, at 7pm.

The concert, hosted by the Mayor of Oadby and Wigston and chairman of Blaby District Council, will celebrate the talents of local young people. Tickets are £5 and available from the mayor's secretary on 0116 257 2643.

Wigston: Age Concern, Paddock Street, is holding a car boot, table-top sale at the centre on Sunday, March 21, from 10am to 3pm.

Tables cost £10. To book, call Emma on 0116 288 5203.

SAPCOTE: The village Bloom Group is inviting everyone to a fund-raising afternoon of tea and cakes in the pavilion, on the playing field, tomorrow, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.

Admission is £1.50 and there will be a raffle.

Wigston: A social event to raise funds for the Mayor of Oadby and Wigston's charity appeal will take place at Parklands leisure centre. The event includes a two course meal and dancing to Knitters' Jig, on Saturday, March 20, at 7pm.

Tickets £16, are available from the mayor's secretary on 0116 257 2643. Proceeds will go to Oadby and Wigston Lions club.

Oadby: Self-service machines are being launched at Oadby library from next Tuesday.

The idea is to allow people to borrow and return books quickly and easily.
