Teaching art of sinning by stealth
I cannot cease to be amazed at the intolerance of Leicester Secular Society, and of secularists in general.
This was exemplified by Allan Hayes. He mentions principles in a Bill to promote a system of teaching Sex and Relationships Education and asks: "Would anyone object?"
Well, any decent person would, if such education is to include training in the availability of abortion.
In the eyes of Catholics and many other people of many faiths or none, abortion is equivalent to murder.
Similarly, if a faith regards contraception and homosexual practice as sinful, no school or teacher of that faith could possibly use such material in conscience.
Mr Hayes seems to be saying everyone must follow the same godless approach that he advocates.
A Pope in the last century described much sex education as "teaching the art of sinning in a subtle way"; not much has changed there, but the heavy hand of the state is being used to enforce the measures. Thank God for Christian clergy and laity who have at least managed to gain some exemption.
Mr Hayes asks "when is the steady takeover of our school system by religious organisations to be reversed?" I would to turn that on its head and ask: "When is the steady takeover of our school system by godless secularists to be reversed?"
They keep chipping away at all that is decent. I believe that our Muslim and Jewish brethren will support Christians in resisting this.
