Teenage gang kicks and punches boy,11, during robbery in Knighton Park, Leicester

A gang of teenagers kicked and punched an 11-year-old boy before taking his scooter in Knighton Park, Leicester.

The victim was with a friend when he was approached by six or seven teenage boys in the woods. They asked the boy to hand over his scooter and when he refused he was kicked and punched to the ground. The gang ran off with the scooter.

The attack happened at about 4.15pm on Saturday. Police are appealing for witnesses.

One of the teenagers involved in the robbery has been described as being white, aged about 16, of average build with dark blonde, spiky hair. He was wearing a blue and white zip up, hooded top which had a white Adidas logo on the right hand side of the chest and black tracksuit bottoms.

One of the other boys from the group is described as having a long brown fringe.

Detective Constable Rich Gamage said: “The victim has been left very shocked by the robbery and scared to return to the park.

“I am appealing to anyone who was on the park on Saturday to think back. Did you witness the robbery? Did you see the same group of youths? Do you know who they are? If you have information about the incident, those responsible or the current whereabouts of the stolen scooter you should call police immediately on 101.”
