Teenage girl robbed for her mobile phone in Fosse Lane, Newfoundpool, Leicester
Police are searching for two youths who robbed a teenage girl for her phone.
The youths, who are thought to be 16 to 18, targeted the girl and her friend in Fosse Lane, Newfoundpool, Leicester and told them both to hand over their phones.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the robbery, which happened at 4pm on Friday, March 1.
Detective Constable Ivor Messiah said: “This incident has left the victims extremely shaken.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious to contact me.
“One of the suspects was wearing quite distinctive sunglasses. Do you remember seeing someone wearing them?”
The first youth is white, 16 to 18 and 5ft 7in or 5ft 8in.
He was slim, clean shaven and wearing a black or navy hooded top which was zipped up over the lower part of his face.
He was also wearing pink sunglasses with dark lenses.
The second youth is also white and a similar age and height. He was wearing a white hooded top and black jeans.

Does anyone know of a way to prevent phone theft?
Is there a way of rendering a phone useless unless it's in the hands of the owner?”

I have heard this is a new way off gaining mobiles phones. Older youths will hang around parks, near schools etc and wait for younger teenager to walk past and then mug them. I feel younger teens will have to try and walk around parks or walk in bigger groups. Try and not to be left alone if possible. I hope locals can help them police. I am sorry for the victims of this horrible crime.”
