Tennis club enjoys its Christmas luncheon

Husbands Bosworth: The tennis club Christmas lunch at the village sports pavilion raised £165 towards club funds.

After the luncheon, founder member Alan Lister performed the switching-on ceremony for the new courts lighting.

Burton Overy: A family carol service with children's tableau will be held at St Andrew's Church on Christmas Eve at 4pm.

Any child can join the tableau and there will be a few spare costumes. If desired, you could bring your child ready dressed.

Carlton Curlieu: Burton Overy choir will lead the singing at the village church carol service by candlelight with poetry and Christmas memories on Tuesday at 6.30pm.

Anstey: Africa Aid will be holding its fourth annual Christmas day lunch.

It will take place at St Mary's Church rooms in the village, where the organisation is based.

A full five-course meal, a visit from Father Christmas and some entertainment will be provided free of charge to residents who would normally be on their own at this festive time of year.

Castle Donington: There will be a Christmas Day service at Castle Donington Parish Church at 10am.
