Thousands enjoy all the fun of fair on city street
Thousands of people filled a normally busy road yesterday for a festive fair.
The third annual Clarendon Park Christmas Fair took place in the city's Queen's Road, which was closed to traffic for the day.
Instead of vehicles, the road was filled with 50 arts and craft stalls, entertainment stages and fairground rides. The event, which was put on by Leicester City Council and Clarendon Park Traders' Association, brings a big boost in trade for shops, cafes, restaurants and bars.
Event manager and ward city councillor Patrick Kitterick said: "There were thousands of people here, all having a good time. We had everything from the Lancaster Choir to Leicester University cheerleaders.
