Thrilling victory shoots Men up to second position
Leicester Men continued their fine start to the East Midlands Division One season by squeezing out Leicester University 4-3, at Manor Road.
The away side made hard work of the game on a very slow pitch, which did not suit their passing style.
Leicester took the lead within 60 seconds after a penalty corner allowed Peter Cook to score his first goal for the club. The Students were soon level before Mariano de la Lastra scored his first for the team, from another slick penalty-corner move.
Having equalised again, the home side went behind for the third time when Jack Mason pounced at the back post to covert yet another penalty corner to give the visitors a 3-2 advantage at half-time.

Following yet another equaliser, de la Lastra added his second from a corner, which proved enough to win the match despite a nasty head injury to keeper David Standish late on.
The win means Leicester move up to second in the table.
Goals from Ryan Newton, Del Cook, Tom Bailey, two from Elliot Ghent and a superb hat-trick from Pami Gill helped Leicester's Thirds to pull off a trilling 8-2 win at Derby Asterdale.
Strikes from Tom Court and Janjiv Joshi (2) capped a great weekend for Leicester as their fourth team beat Melton 3-0.
