Tickets for one of Leicestershire's most attractive fixtures of 2012 have gone on sale.

The Foxes face Australia at Grace Road on June 21 in a 50-over match.

The game is one of only two the Aussies will be playing in their build-up to a five-match one-day international series against England this summer.

The Australians last played at Grace Road in 2005 when they featured in a three-day game and also a one-day match.

The first-class game was drawn – opener Chris Rogers hitting a double century during his brief spell with Leicestershire – while the tourists won the 50-over match convincingly by 95 runs.

Matthew Hayden smashed 107 off just 96 balls as Australia reached 321-4 in their 50 overs.

Leicestershire were never in the run-chase, all-rounder Ottis Gibson top-scoring with 50 while Paul Nixon posted a gritty 43 with County closing on 226-8.

Australia did make a brief return to Leicestershire in 2009 when they used the net facilities at Grace Road as they prepared for the Ashes series against England.

The Foxes are expecting demand for the game to be high – and that can only be good for income at the club.

Last year's Twenty20 game against India, played on the August Bank Holiday, was a sell-out, bringing much-needed finance to Leicestershire.

Members can purchase tickets at a reduced rate of £10 with under-16s paying £1.

Non-members can buy in advance for £13 and £5 respectively, adult admission rising to £15 on the day.

Anyone wishing to buy tickets should contact the club on 08712 821879.
