Rail services disrupted in Leicestershire after person hit by train in Sileby
A person was hit by a train in Sileby today, causing rail services to be disrupted across Leicestershire.
The line through Leicester and Market Harborough was closed after the fatal collision, which occurred at 1.50pm.

The line re-opened at about 3.20pm, but the disruption was expected to continue to have an effect until this evening.
The company said buses were laid on to supplement services between Peterborough and Leicester, Leicester and Kettering and Derby and Birmingham.

Some East Midlands Trains were diverted via Corby and did not call at Leicester and Market Harborough.
Buses replaced trains between Peterborough and Leicester.
East Midlands Trains passengers were able to use their tickets on East Coast services between Doncaster and London Kings Cross and Virgin Trains services between Birmingham New Street and London Euston.
