Greetham: The village community centre will be opening its doors to families on New Year's Eve.

The established format remains the same, with doors open at 9pm.

The what-to-wear theme this year will be flowers and insects.

There will be no food, the bar will be open and there will be a disco and possibly a live band.

There will be a small entry charge on the door.

Ibstock: Members of Ibstock Central Townswomen's Guild are in the mood for Christmas after their December meeting.

The evening was made special by speaker Ann Hughes, who, through prose, poems and songs, looked at the 12 days of Christmas.

Other Christmas traditions were explored and mulled wine and mince pies followed.

The 2010 programme begins with a meeting at the Baptist Church, at 7pm on January 7.

Details about membership and speakers are available from Angela Earnshaw on 01530 260816.
