TV auctioneer Charles Hanson is supporting a heart charity by organising a fund-raising valuation day in Leicestershire.

Hanson's Auctioneers and Valuers will be hosting the event at Sketchley Grange Hotel, in Hinckley, on Friday in aid of the British Heart Foundation's (BHF) Red for Heart campaign.

Charles, who is from the East Midlands and well-known for his roles on BBC's Bargain Hunt and Flog It, will take items of value away to auction at a later date to raise further funds for the charity.

He said: "I am proud to be supporting BHF again and will be hosting valuation days as well as purchasing a Red for Heart pin badge and participating in the National Wear Red Day on Friday.

"I urge the rest of Leicestershire to get involved."

The event runs from 10am to 4pm.

BHF Leicestershire spokeswoman Sophie Jardine said: "I hope the event is a success and I encourage people to look through their attic to find something they'd like to find out more about."
