Victory flight
Further to Ian Connelly's very negative letter concerning the restored Vulcan bomber, the Vulcan website reports that the Rolls Royce specialist engineers, after examining minor corrosion found in two of the installed engines and a spare engine, found nothing to worry about and declared them fit to use.
A successful test flight followed on Friday.
Ceefax reports that the Vulcan displayed at the RAF Cosford Air Show on Sunday as planned.
Thousands of people were therefore able to enjoy the thrill of seeing and hearing this icon of British engineering in action. No need to admit defeat!
