A village has been named among the finalists in the Royal Horticultural Society's Britain in Bloom 2010 competition.

Market Bosworth will compete alongside other villages in the large village category.

The competition will officially launch on March 24 with a mass planting exercise and close with the awards ceremony on September 29.

RHS judges will visit each community throughout two weeks in August to appraise entries and prepare advice to help each community improve on their efforts for future years

The other finalists in the large village category include Wedmore, in Somerset, Cayton, in North Yorkshire, and St Pierre du Bois, in Guernsey.
