A new church group has aimed to attract young people to its congregation.

Stoneygate Baptist Church has enlisted the help of 22-year-old musician Pete Coombs to engage children between the ages of eight to 12 in a weekly youth group called Genesis.

Fiona Hossack, of the church, said: "Pete's fantastic he takes the kids on trips and runs the sessions. He works part time for local youth groups including ours.

"It gets kids along who might not go to the junior church," she added.
