Volunteers are being urged to learn new skills, gain experience and improve their job-hunting potential by getting involved with one of the county's festivals.

The Market Bosworth Festival incorporates a wide range of events including craft fairs, art exhibitions, pop concerts, picnics, recitals, street entertainment and drama.

The eighth is due to take place between June 18 and 30 this year and the organisers are holding a welcome evening on Wednesday for anyone interested in being involved.

A spokesman said there were many ways in which people could get involved: event-planning; marketing; fund-raising; administration; web design; graphic design and putting up stages and posters.

"Whether you are retired and would like something fun to get your teeth into, or you're still at university and need some experience to improve your CV, we would love to hear from you," she said.

Festival chairman Marilyn Hooker said: "We are always looking for people who are keen to help and who can offer time."

The meeting will take place at 7pm at Dixie Grammar School, Market Bosworth,
