PCC elections: Voters in Leicestershire to learn police poll winner
Voters were due to find out by the end of today who has been elected police and crime commissioner (PCC).
Polling stations were open between 7am and 10pm yesterday, with many appearing to attract only a slow trickle of voters as the day went on.
Labour candidate, assistant mayor of Leicester Sarah Russell, said yesterday: "It has been really slow in the day but hopefully, as the evening goes on and people get home from work, it will get busier."
Tory, retired Air Chief Marshall Sir Clive Loader, a parish councillor in Wing, said: "We have been out encouraging people to vote. We will see what the outcome is."

Leicester businessman Suleman Nagdi said: "It was very quiet at the polling stations during the day and I was concerned there was going to be a very low turn-out. But in the evening it got busier."
