Up to 10,000 people will descend on a county farm this weekend for a two-day Second World War extravaganza.

A 60-acre farm in Cosby will be filled with the sights and sounds of war-time, with flypasts, military displays, re-enactments, models and traditional 1940s music. One of the highlights of the Victory Show, at Foxlands Farm, in Croft Road, Cosby, will be a Falklands War mock bombing run by the Vulcan bomber.

The flight will be made to look even more realistic thanks to a remarkable pyrotechnic display on the ground.

Other eye-catching attractions will include displays from the Red Arrows, as well as Spitfires, Hurricanes and the Lancaster, along with 200 authentic military vehicles, war walks and a huge army encampment.

Among those taking part are a group led by Amanda Crowden, from charity group Support our Soldiers, who have been camping out in support for British soldiers in Afghanistan.

Organiser Steve Pepper, who hosts the annual event on his family farm, said the weather forecast looked good this year after a wash-out in 2008.

He said: "It's been a really busy build-up, but it's going really well.

"The aircraft are booked and there will be nine displays today including the Vulcan."
