Witness appeal after fatal crash on A50 near Castle Donington
A van driver has been killed following a crash on the A50 near Castle Donington.
The incident happened at around 9.25am yesterday on the southbound carriageway at the exit slip road of junction one, near junction 24 of the M1, and involved a white Vauxhall Vivaro van and a yellow articulated lorry.

The driver of the van was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers from the serious collision investigation unit are appealing for witnesses.

Detective Constable Seamus Burns, who is investigating the incident said: “Both of the vehicles were travelling on the southbound carriageway when the incident happened.
“I would appeal to anyone who was driving on the A50 when the incident happened and saw either of these two vehicles in the moments leading up to the incident. The information you have could help with our enquiries.”
Formal identification of the deceased has not yet taken place.
