Woman charged over Bowstring Bridge protest
A woman who staged a 12-hour protest on the Bowstring Bridge in an effort to save it from demolition has been charged with aggravated trespass.
Karen Green, 39, is due to appear before magistrates in Leicester at the end of the month .
The Leicester woman was arrested when she came down from the Duns Lane bridge on Monday night after she had spent 12 hours chained to one of its main girders.
Leicestershire police said Ms Green had been released on bail until her court appearance on Wednesday, November 25.
In the meantime, a condition that she must not go within 200 yards of the bridge has been imposed.
