Woman cut out of playground swing in Leicestershire village
Firefighters in Leicestershire were called out to rescue a fellow emergency services worker trapped by the bar of a child's swing in the early hours of Saturday.
The 26-year-old woman, who was with two friends, had climbed into the swing in a play area in East End, Long Clawson, at about midnight.
Firefighters were called after her friends had spent an hour trying to free her.
After 15 minutes of trying to free her, they cut her out using hydraulic equipment normally used to free accident victims trapped in vehicles
One of her rescuers said: "I think she'd had a few beers and decided to get in."
He said the trapped woman worked for the ambulance service and was "hugely embarrassed".

“And I just bet the firefighters had their camera phones at the ready to make sure their colleague's situation was captured for posterity.
This will follow this poor woman for the rest of her career and when she retires will be the highlight of the speeches given at her leaving do, I'll bet...”

“How embarrassing for her, at 26 years of age she might want to try and not drink as much and have a social drink. The report said she might have had a few beers. Well this is not clear if she had? But from the action taken and the time you would think she was under the influence of alcohol.
I hope she will learn from this and move on and I do not drink martin_le3 so I can't use drink as an excuse for bad behaviour. But I do understand your point that a lot of young people do drink too much and regret it. At 26 she is not classes as a young person as that is more 16 – 24 year olds.”

“I am sure that was humiliating for her, and a lesson learnt. I am sure she will be billed for the damage and will be keen to pay the bill to put it right - why wouldn't she be? There is also no reason why her paying the bill would be reported in the paper, only would it be reported if she refuses to pay and there is a court case.
Surely, we've all done something stupid at some point when younger through drinking too much?”

“So how much damage was cause to the swing in the process? Hope she gets the bill for the repair. There's a reason why there's an age limit of fourteen for using the equipment in children's playgrounds.”
