Woman is fined over fly-tipping
A woman who paid an unregistered waste-disposer to get rid of her household refuse has been fined.
Shilpa Jobanputra (33), of Loughborough Road, Birstall, pleaded guilty at Leicester Magistrates' Court to failing to take proper measures to ensure her waste was passed on to an authorised person for disposal.
The court heard that on March 12, a member of the public reported 30 bin bags of rubbish had been fly-tipped near an industrial estate.
Charnwood Borough Council found envelopes and pay-slips bearing Jobanputra's details among the bags' contents.

Jobanputra, interviewed by the council on April 18, said she had paid a man £50 to take away a lot of household waste.
She told the court: "I thought they were going to dispose of it properly. I was not aware I had to check the paperwork to ensure who they are and what they are doing is legal.
"I will not do it again."
She was fined £75 and ordered to pay £100 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
