A woman suffered fractured ribs and a broken nose in an attack as she walked home.

The incident happened at 4am on October 27, in Union Way, Loughborough. She and two men were attacked by between seven and 10 men.

The woman, 21, needed treatment at Leicester Royal Infirmary. The male victims, aged 20 and 21, who also went to hospital, sustained cuts and bruises.

An 18-year-old man arrested in connection with the incident has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
