Leicester City Women are still on course for an eighth successive victory in the County Cup after a dramatic semi-final win over Leicester City Ladies yesterday.

The sides were locked at 1-1 at the end of extra-time before the holders booked their spot in the last four with a 5-4 victory in a penalty shoot-out.

Kyleigh Brant put Ladies ahead in the 80th minute but Destiney Toussaint equalised in the 89th minute, following up after Shona Franklin's attempt was saved by Aimee Cattel.

Leeanne Woodfood hit the bar for the holders in extra-time but the issue had to be decided in a shoot-out.

“Very funny Norman99 ...."regardless of who won, I wish them all the best"...v patronising.

So basically what you are saying is that I am wrong and women's football is valid and relevant and worthwhile but you are not the least bit interested in it and haven't got a clue about any of it. Nice one.

A bit like saying on the LCFC vs Derby game tomorrow - regardless of who wins I wish thm all the best!”

“Norman- do you see him under your bed down under-' you know who' never replied- and hardly ever posted more than a one liner-
as for womens football- i think it has a place here- you dont have to read it do you- I watched some female rugby on TV recently for the novelty - in fact they were excellent and enjoyed as a good sporting occasion

    Good luck to LCFC ladies”

    “CPTrain
Regardless of who won the game I wished them all the best for the next and final game.

This is all you had to say on the subject and were right out of order for doing so FRED. Quote Why do you bother reporting this - no one is interested in womens football." Unquote.
    CLEAR OF...”

“There has not been any womens football reports in the Mercury since the stopped publishing The Sporting Blue, (how I miss that paper, Saturday mornings just havent been the same since) Ive been involved with Girls and Ladies football for around 8 years now and I know for a fact that the only reason there are no match reports on these games is because of the lack of involvement from parents in the game, each season that goes by the boys at the Mercury have always said that they would be more than willing to publish more about this area in football as long as they had the match reports , its a catch 22 situation”

“I am sorry homesickalien but its true - there are never any comments on any Mercury report on Ladies Football which must imply that no one reads it ergo its of no interest to anyone - I mean even the names - Leicester City Women vs Leicester City Ladies - can they at least be a bit more imaginative with the names!”

“What a stupid comment CPTrain. If you can't say something nice about women's football then just keep quiet. It's about time women's football got more attention.”
