YouTube pregnancy video reaches 1,500,000 views
A shocking internet video which shows graphic footage of a teenage girl giving birth on a school field has received more than 1,500,000 hits worldwide.
The promotional advert was filmed at Hamilton Community College with young actors, and was released on YouTube two weeks ago. It is being used by the primary care trust, NHS Leicester City and the city council to highlight the issue of teenage pregnancy.
The actors were chosen from drama schools around the city, including several students from De Montfort University's Drama Studies course.
The internet sensation is the most-watched YouTube clip in Australia and Poland. There have been almost 400,000 viewings in the United Kingdom.
The 40-second clip was produced by Leicester City Teenage Pregnancy and Parenthood Partnership and was filmed to look like the scene was captured by a student on a mobile phone.
The primary care trust said although the clip was graphic, it was designed to get attention.
