Youngsters invited to help brighten up a building site

An art competition for youngsters is being run to brighten up a building site.

Construction work on a £4m extension to care for young adults is taking place at Rainbows hospice in Loughborough.

Hospice staff are now inviting schools to enter artwork to be blown up and used to decorate the site.

Snooker star and Rainbow's patron Willie Thorne will judge the competition next week.

He said: "As you can imagine, everywhere looks a little muddy. We would like to brighten up the building site for the children and their families.

"We're asking schools to send us pictures, paintings or computer drawings.

"The winners will be enlarged and displayed on the fences. As long as it's bright and colourful, anything goes."
