Using computer-aided design software, the team created a Formula One car and tested its aerodynamics in wind tunnels at Leicester University. The pupils were judged on car speed and the supporting evidence of their design, a presentation and a marketing display.

Teacher Rachel Wells said: "Flash Forward thoroughly deserved to take home the Team Identity trophy.

"The challenge gives students a genuine insight into the process of devising, testing and launching a product."
