Enderby Band, which got a grant from CAFFYBraunstone Town: The Community Action Fund for Youth is a small local charity started by Roy Dixon when chairman of Blaby District Borough Council 10 years ago.

He wanted to help youth groups. CAFFY gives out small grants up to £1,200 to youth groups in the Blaby District with the proviso that they have to raise equal matching funding by their own efforts, so they appreciate the money and don’t take it for granted

Among the many groups which have been helped are Enderby Band, rugby clubs, soccer clubs, Scouts, drama groups, schools, and skate board parks.

In the 10 years more than £50,000 has been raised and distributed as grants

On Friday, March 20, together with youth groups the charity has helped, there will be a celebration at Braunstone Civic Centre from 7pm to 10pm.

The celebration will include a musical and drama programme from the young people who we have been helped.

All young people and youth organisations from Blaby are invited and there are refreshments provided.

For ticket information, call 0116 277 3965.
