Two men have been arrested after drugs raids at separate addresses in Loughborough.

In the first raid at an address at Epinal Court, in the town, police arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of possession of a class A drug.

Officers seized a quantity of controlled drugs and items that were thought to be stolen. He was released on police bail until March 7, 2013.

The second raid was at an address on Browning Road. A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply. A quantity of a controlled drug was recovered from the property. He was released on bail until March 3, 2013.

Inspector Johnny Monks said: “The warrants are designed to disrupt local drug dealing and bring dealers to justice.

“Drug addiction is one of the driving factors behind the majority of burglaries and vehicle crime which is why we are committed to tackling it.

“We can’t do it without the support and information that comes from local residents. I’d like to thank people who have come forward with information and urge others to report suspicious behaviour to us or Crimestoppers."
