good day out
“Discover dinosaurs, mummies and natural history at New Walk Museum. Visit the Art Gallery where you will find art ranging from Expressionism, modern and old masters. I really like New Walk Museum. It is set in a lovely walk way, not far from the city centre, and has lovely gardens, so is a nice place for a picnic. It is great for kids as they have exhibitions on the Egyptians and Dinosaurs, there is something for everyone and its free which is always a bonus”

Free Day out
“Always a good place to go if you are taking the kids out on a budget. Its free to get in and worth a look around. May be worth going on the way to victoria park if you are taking the kids out. They also have a cafe where you can rest your feet and have a drink”

“this museaum is situated on new walk its graet for tourists and for children its absolutly free of charge the guides there are really helpfull and always on hand they have leaflets there and some of the stuff you see is amazing i will be going back this summer”

Exciting for the kids
“Located on the picturesque New walk, this Museum really is a Leicester treasure. Hardly ever crowded, unless you turn up at the same time as a school trip. Free to get in so a great idea for a family day out in the holidays when the weather isn't so great. The huge dinosaur installation is particularly impressive for a child, boy or girl. Keep a look out for events such as art courses and life drawing as well as temporary exhibitions all year round.”

Brilliant and FREE!
“Great historic building. Best museum in Leicester. The temporary exhibitions are always very interesting and keep you coming back. Wallace and Gromit was particularly imaginative. Dinosaur section downstairs is impressive. Free to get in. Lovely location - New Walk is a very picturesque part of the city. There is also a cafe, which is good because it’s a big museum and takes quite a while to get round everything!”

Brilliant!
“The New Walk Museum is like a smaller version of Londons Natural History Museum. There is something for everyone from all over the world and through out history. Great little cafe and gift shop, this will keep children and adults amused for hours. I have also seen a few art exhibitions from local artist here which were stunning.”

Hidden Treasure
“It's free, weather-proof and there's a decent cafe - oh and the kids get loads out of it too. It may have museum in its title but this place is far from crusty and past it. The kids will be entertained - I promise.”
