A dairy has produced the world's first aphrodisiac "cheese sweets" – just in time for Valentine's Day.

The sweets, by Long Clawson Dairy, in the Vale of Belvoir, are made from premium white Stilton laced with ingredients believed to have aphrodisiac qualities, including oysters, champagne and strawberries.

And, the dairy says, cheese itself contains phenylethylamine, "one of the ingredients that gives chocolate its renowned aphrodisiac quality".

Janice Breedon, the dairy's marketing manager, said the sweets were on sale online and had been ordered by "a number of our celebrity customers".

The price is £8 per sweet or £32 for a box of four. There are two varieties – strawberry and Champagne, and oyster-dipped with popping candy.

Janice said the sweets "taste great". She added: "The fusion of flavours – creamy white Stilton with strawberries or popping candy and oysters – makes it a real sweet and sour affair."
