1. CHILDREN: Christmas Winter Wonderland at Conkers, Moira, Leicestershire.
During your day out at Winter Wonderland you can take a train journey on the Santa Special through the Tunnel of Discovery, wander through Santa's forest and the avenue of lights with guidance from Santa's elf, meet Santa's reindeer, and watch some seasonal films in the Gallery Coffee Shop. 3. THEATRE: Grease at De Montfort Hall, Granville Road, Leicester.
Musical favourite Grease, is back at De Montfort Hall for Christmas 2012. ‘Bad boy’ Danny and ‘the girl next door’ Sandy fall in love all over again. It’s the original High School musical, featuring all the unforgettable songs from the hit movie including You’re The One That I Want, Grease Is The Word, Summer Nights, Hopelessly Devoted To You, Sandy, Greased Lightnin’ and many more. 4. MUSIC: Christmas Concert at the Church of St James The Greater, London Road, Leicester.
Enjoy an evening of classical music and carol singing. Christmas Concert by the Leicester Bach Choir with Musical Village Choirs, children from Elizabeth Woodville Primary School, harpist Tanya Houghton, and conductor Richard Laing. Music by Britten, Poulenc, Reid, Tournier and a selection of carols. When: Saturday, 7pm. £15 - £8

5. CHILDREN: Snow White with Bill Brookman at The Guildhall, Leicester.
Children can enjoy a day of Festive Fun at the Hall. There will be lots of festive arts and crafts for all the family throughout the day. Families can drop by after Christmas shopping and enjoy the atmospheric surroundings of the Guildhall, meet Santa, take part in face painting and trails, and enjoy hot drinks and mince pies! Bill Brookman, inimitable puppet man, will be entertaining visitors with a musical version of the classic tale of Snow White & the Seven Dwarves. 6. EVENT: The Charming Indoor Christmas Festival at The City Rooms, Leicester.
There will be over 30 quirky, boutique stalls across the two floors of The City Rooms for shoppers plus musicians playing from the balcony. children will be invited to submit a homemade Christmas tree decoration between 10am and 1pm to be in with a chance of being crowned best elf by mamma elf (aka Kirsty Munroe!). 8. CHILDREN'S THEATRE : The Tiger Who Came To Tea at Curve Theatre, Orton Square, Leicester.
Based on the picture book written and illustrated by Judith Kerr and adapted for the stage with songs and lyrics by David Wood. The tea-guzzling tiger returns from a successful West End summer season. This family show is has magic, sing-a-long songs and clumsy chaos. For children aged 3 and over, and their families. 9. EVENT: Moon Rock Party at The National Space Centre, Exploration Drive, Leicester.
The National Space Centre will be celebrating a very special anniversary in 2012, the 40th birthday of its Moon Rock - which is in Leicester thanks to NASA and the Apollo 17 trip way back in 1972. To celebrate that mission the National Space Centre team will be dedicating the day to the Apollo missions and sharing a very special cake with all our visitors, which be cut by some very special guests. Come along and find out all about Apollo 17, Eugene Cernan and, of course, our amazing bit of history... the Moon rock. When: Sunday, 10am to 4pm.

10. FILM: Bolshoi Ballet: the Nutcracker at Phoenix Square, Midland Street, Leicester.
