First class for Gordon, but what about rest?
Congratulations to Gordon Banks on being honoured by the Royal Mail in connection with the 150th anniversary of the Football League.
However, I noticed that despite it being a celebration of 150 years, not one of those honoured played prior to 1950. The first knight of football, Sir Stanley Matthews, was not even included, which beggars belief.
I believe all aspects of the game should be honoured – including great managers and even, dare I say, top referees.
RJ Atkins, Leicester.

“Yeah, then people would have complained that 150 stamps were needed to complete the collection and that was costing to much.... Royal Mail can't win either way”

“Royal Mail should have introduced 150 different players to commemorate this event so they could be collected like the Olympic 50p coins.”
