“No influence whatsoever. I personally like the way Pearson handles the media and keeps things behind closed doors.
Pearson has built a good team over the last 12 months and one with a significantly lower wage bill. He should be given the clse season to hopefully add the 1-2 players we need to make the step from a good team, to a team capable of winning the league.
Sacking him now would only seve to ruin any chance we ave of going up and we'd be back spring gin to rebuild which may hurt us when financial fair play kicks in.
I personally do not care how Pearson is with the media, it's what he gets th team doing on the pitch that matters.”

“Yes it has certainly changed my opinion and to an extent the attitude of the club towards its supporters hasnt helped either.N.P. is a obstinate character and has now told us not to bother turning up if we dont like it.Well I have been turning up for 60 years and will continue to do so .
Why grumble about a small squad whenwe have Moore,Dann and Beckford out on load. How man goals have the strikers scored since he bought the 3 sriker plan i Why change everything after an excellentdisplay against Blackburn ?Ill be there next year mr pearson ill you ??”

“What NP's or any other manager's attitude towards supporters has got to do with anything?
We all know that it's a results business and the more supporters are given the more they want. So it's no suprise that when we have a run of bad results, a selection of fans question the manager - mainly through the media who love to crank up the pressure - and want to get rid.
They quickly forget the important bit! What is our situation in comparison with previous managers?
Our current position is as good as any in the last 10 years and the only manager this one can compare himself to is himself. that's because he is the only manager to do as well as he is doing in that 10 years.
So why the panic...
Unless the owners give him 20 million to spend, he should be left alone and indeed supported. But he hasn't had that and probably won't unless we go up..
You see, despite all the opinions that we need to get rid and get someone else in there is no guarantee of that working as has been proven during those 10 years.
5th place and all to play for but the fans give up before the players and there you have it. Abusing the manager won't help.
Yes we are all sick of this poor run but 1 win and we get going again...”

“my opinion is this. they should never have had him back. tactically he has no idea whatsoever. he has two ways of playing one being the normal style when that fails he hoofs long balls up to players who have no chance of making anything from them. what happened to the fast starts we were making in games fast tempo from the starts. when we were doing that we were scaring teams do death. so why as it changed. then there is his arrogance if a player has something against his way of doing things then they are finished no second chances. now he is so ignorant of the supporters he has no respect from most supporters now and it looks like the players feel the same and they are not playing for him any more. why can the owners not see that. he is not bigger than the club even if he thinks he is”
Sunday, March 10 2013, 5:26PM
“just to put you right ghost you are saying he is the best manager we have had for ten yrs? no other manager as had the backing from the owners like has and i mean financially. hes arrogant and they player are NOT performing for can you not see that. as for telling supporters who have put there hard earned money into supporting this club for many more years than he as been here why should we walk away because he cannot do the job with the wealth of players he as at his diposal. why bring in players then play them out of position? tactically he is the worst manager we have had in the last ten yrs,”
Sunday, March 10 2013, 6:46PM
“tell me taylorma66 are we on about the same team? what is happening on the pitch? all i see is a team of players who are not playing for their manager and the results say it all, we are in a desperate position to were we was and should still be that is totally down to a arrogant manager who thinks hes bigger than the club. what do you see? perhaps i need to go to the opticians to get my eyes tested”

“I agree with Andyrtaylor1 whole heatedly. Can't believe your asking what his attitude towards the supporters has got to do with anything Ghost...it's got EVERYTHING to do with it..the supporters are the club, without the supporters there IS NO CLUB. It's a it like talking about a partner in marriage having no say in the relationship.
Fact is the blokes the worst PR representative on the planet..first accuses us of having Delusions of Grandeur after the Barnsley debacle...now tells supporters to STAY AWAY if they're not happy?
What's all that about?
He's not the best manager we've had in ten years NO WAY! He has nothing on the board apart from a lot of hot air & broken promises...in fact , if we don't start picking up points quickly, we'll be exactly where we were after SGE got the heave ho..two places outside the play offs..so why progress would that be?
He said when he came back that he had an imbalanced squad .. well, he's had plenty of time to put that right (if you believed it in the first place) & has made some nightmare tactical decisions!
Sorry mate, not for me ( & a lot of others by the sound of it)”
Sunday, March 10 2013, 7:26PM
“certainly not changed mine one iota. Didn't like him before he came back. Dont like him now he has and won't be happy till he's gone. cant put it plainer than that. Whether he was a football manager or a guy in the Pub I'd never like him. If he was a guy who turned up at my local id be saying "Oh hell here comes that arrogant big headed ..........."”

“Bayern and Barcelona are owned by the community and their fans and as one radio commentator said recently "that is the future of football" so there should be balance between management and fans with freedom of information, answer sessions and public input. That would allay confusions or misconceptions over player occurrences like Danns and Beckford.
However after years of being in the lower reaches of the table, Pearson got city competitive again, which includes some astute signings, but he has been unable to rectify inconsistent form. Person assembled a good side but failed to provide squad or striker depth. Concerns that were eventually to become reality.”
Sunday, March 10 2013, 9:26PM
“Dorset..with respect, if he was the best manager we've had in ten years, we'd be playing premiership football now & not have a totally dived camp & falling attendances!
The reality is we're a couple of draws/defeats away from being exactly where we were when SGE got sacked ..that may be progress in your eyes..not mine I'm afraid”

“Nigel has done a fabulous job of trimming the fat and assembling a youthful and progressive squad. Despite a poor start to the season, we settled into playing some attractive fluid football (much to my surprise).
I was thoroughly enjoying my visits to the KP and starting to see Nigel in a new light. There were hints of squad rotation and a shift away from the stodgy 4-4-2 diet we had been fed. My respect to him for that.
What the hell has upset the apple cart? Something has gone wrong internally and the old Nigel is resurfacing. His rudeness to the supporters on Tuesday was uncalled for and hints at deeper rooted problems.
I heard in the week some reliable second hand information from within the club, that Nigel is widely disliked by the staff. Events on the pitch Saturday substantiated this, with poor discipline rife and body language at odds with a harmonious squad. That is a major worry.
Yes I was upset with his comments and I am baffled with some of his tactical decision making, but still I would not advocate sacking him right now. He deserves a chance to make right a promising season.
Showing some humility might be a start in helping to build bridges with the fans and in doing so promote a positive outlook throughout the club and its supporters. That more than anything is what we need right now.”

“taylorma66 - nothing to do with the local or mercury I'm afraid me old mate,
but I will say this as I said in another post..
I will stand by my statement that I would give him until the end of the season (and his contract) to do what he was contracted to do.
But his attitude towards the fans means I won't be crying if the board decide not to renew his contract. I don't care how much progress he's made - when Financial Fair Play kicks in, this club will need it's supporters, and supporters should be made to feel welcome - when they are being charged for a premium product.
The team need to know the fans are behind them, but they also need confidence in the man who puts them out there. His complaint about the abuse he got on Tuesday night should have been targeted at the individual concerned - or he should have been professional and said the fans are entitled to their opinion - but instead - once again he made a personal remark to all of the supporters.. not good PR.
as for the motive behind the question - it was not to stir anything - but as someone who's given the club a lot of their money over the years, I don't feel that any member of their staff has the right to criticise or insult me.. I've always delivered on my obligation..”

“Ghost - I did say on my Opinion, results aside, I will always support the club,
or at least root for them. But nothing can make me like Nigel Pearson now.
Some Leicester City supporters are like I-phone owners,
They have invested so they will defend it to the hilt,
and if apple bring something out that isn't quite as good as expected, rather than be quietly disappointed, they'll become ultra defensive - focussing only on it's good features,
to the point where denial sets in, and wait in hope that the newer one will address the problems.
I support my club - and am proud of their good points, but not so blinded that I can't be critical of things I see that are wrong.. Results this season overall have been good enough to get us top 6 - but apart from Cardiff, no one else has been consistent enough to warrant a permanent place there - and that's the reason we haven't fallen further during this bad run of form.
You are usually rational, but don't kid yourself that NP's Genius has kept us in the top 6, if others around us had the same consistency as we expect - we'd be adrift of the playoff's by now.
Only luck has kept us in with a shout, but how long can we ride our luck.
It's not our JOB as supporters to back the manager, it's our decision to pay to go and cheer on the TEAM, but I don't go to the KP just to cheer and sing, I can do that anywhere at any club, I go to the KP to Watch a football match and to be entertained, and see my team trying their best, and part of that is knowing that the manager wants to do his best to make my experience as enjoyable as possible. Because without the supporters, there are 32,000 blue plastic seats,
and they don't sing very loud at all, and worst of all, they cost money rather than spending it.”

“Ghost..although I have no doubt you love the club as I do..it's blatantly obvious that you can see absolutely no wrong in this bloke, like a couple of others I could mention on here.
I'll be the first to tell you I admire loyalty...it's something that's sadly missing in the game today.
Clubs & players are merely commodities to make serious amounts of cash out of...the Bobby Charltons and modern day Ryan Giggs are indeed good nuggets in an age where bank balances & flash cars are everything, whilst contracts aren't really worth the paper they're written on.
Chappy makes an excellent point about kids half his age being paid fortunes for something he'd gladly do for free, but they charge him 30 quid for the privelige!
Blaming the owners is futile. I'm sure if they could do the job they'd do it, similar to if we coukd drill and pull teeth painlessly, we'd wouldn't pay dentists kings ransoms to do it!
Pearson by his own admission knew what the brief was & admitted as much in the interview he day he came back. He also said that he realised the consequences if he failed in that mission.
He's had a season and a half (just over) to correct his supposed imbalanced squad. He's spent money (don't kid yourself about that) and has made a few good buys (Knockaert & Wood spring to mind) but has bought a few howlers as well (a million quid for a non- leaguer in Vardy & three games a season Whitbread) :(
Pearsons own worst enemy is his own stubbornness. Unfortunately (for him) PR is a critical part of any managers brief in today's world. To Chappy's point, fans are asked to pay sizeable portions of their income to watch what was designed initially to be the 'working mans sport", which has now turned in to a corporate money pot..and they rightly demand a bit of respect & humility in return. So the "delusions of grandeur" & "don't come if our don't like it comments" were huge own goals & coukd ultimately end up being nails in Pearsons own coffin.
I honestly believe that he doesn't really care too much about the club, or it's fans. The reality of it is he's sitting on a fat contract & will come out smelling of roses (financially) regardless of what transpires over the next few games. Make no mistake, Nigel Pearsons ego over rules everything..& if you have doubts about that, ask the Hull fans about his loyalty!...ask them if they'd swap him for Steve Bruce now..I think you already know the answer...”

“Ghost - There are many different types of supporters all looking for differing things in a matchday experience and maybe that's because football has had to diversify in order to survive(something you haven't quite grasped yet).
Some enjoy fine dining pre-match, some enjoy a family day out, some enjoy corporate entertaining, some enjoy focussing wholly on the game so as to enjoy a good tactical disection in the pub afterwards, and some enjoy singing, banging drums and throwing firworks at each other.
Whilst all different, they have one thing in common...they have all paid their money so they all have their choice. And they are all as worthy as one another.
If you choose to blame the supporters, and now (rather ungratefully) the owners, without accepting any blame for the chief conduit and centrepiece of operations the Manager, that is your choice.
But please accept, from your lofty perch, that we are all entitled to our opinion and all entitled to behave how we like when supporting OUR team.”
Monday, March 11 2013, 10:58AM
“Ghost just to prove your opinion is still valid - and I am not having a dig - Yorkie's first post on this topic was exactly what I was after, it doesn't reflect my own opinion, but he's said his peace, justified it, and not questioned the integrity of anyone else or why the question was asked..”
Monday, March 11 2013, 11:57AM
“Dorset..how can you compare SGE with Pearson. SGE managed some of the best sides and players in European football. Check his achievement record..so comparing him to a novice, who's won NOTHING holds no credence whatsoever, where I'm concerned. Erikson was dismissed after 13 games with a brand new squad, so the argument about what he could have achieved (given the time) will always be a mute one...but on his track record? Are you kidding me?
I would also put Micky Adams above Pearson in management ability. Adams recorded success with us, achieving promotion & was unlucky IMO in not keeping us up, given his resources.
Pearson has absolutely nothing to show for all of his huffing & puffing, apart from upsetting a lot of fans with his egotistic remarks...”
Monday, March 11 2013, 2:43PM
“Lets be realistic here, sure it's all nice if he is fuzzy with the fans but I will like him a whole lot more if he gets us promoted. I think his tactical change to a three striker system is probably one of the dumbest moves of his managerial career. Why on earth did he change a successful system. He should have remained patient but he double guessed himself and did not listen to his guts, essentially he panicked. Time to go back to Nugent and Woods upfront for the Cardiff game and we may come away with a result. In my opinion this is the game that will define the season. We win and my gut tells me we get promoted, lose and it's all over. Overall I do like what Pearson is doing but please put away the third striker.”
Monday, March 11 2013, 5:18PM
“good point Karl - I won't really ever warm to him no matter what he achieves - unless he rebuilds (or should I say builds) a relationship with the fans. At the moment he is just someone that the board have employed to do a job. If he thinks the supporters aren't important that's his call, but if he does alienate the supporters any further and doesn't get results, he will have to live by that call.. don't know how it will affect his son's career either. Only time will tell.”

“FF1
it is time some of you just forget SGE- so is his record at LCFC better than NP's- NO- your post is full of maybe's
I never rated Sven- and dont give me his 'England record malake- a lot of duff friendlies- I always thought that he was a total fraud- BUT when he took over at City I started to like him and exciting times- BUT the Thai's threw money at it- too much money AND agreed he should have been given more time, as NP should before and now.
As for Adams-yes OK he got us promoted and sadly the team was not good enough but a decent man and manager
So Levine, Kelly,Sousa,Allen, Megson, Hollowhead- dont think so- how many managers in 10 yrs- 12- yes 12- where did that get us- sweet fanny adams
ONLY really successful managers in our time
Gillies
O Farrell
Bloomfield
MON
pathetic is'nt it”
Tuesday, March 12 2013, 4:11AM
“Good reply Dorset..but there is one thing about SGE I must pick you up on. He performed on the international stage far higher than friendlies...he was only matched by Brazil in reaching four consecutive World Cup quarter finals (check it out). Also check out his silverware record before coming to England. Always a gentleman & was genuinely dismayed when let go from the KP..compared to Pearsons record with our fans, he sticks out head & shoulders in my book..”
“Has Nigel Pearson's attitude to supporters influenced your opinion of him lately?
Yes results aren't going great, but if Nigel was more engaging with the Support, do you think more people would be prepared to give him a chance?
Which way does the pendulum swing on Nigel Pearson for you at the Moment,
are you 50/50 on whether you believe in him,
are you more in favour of letting him complete the job?
or are you swinging or already swung over to the time is up? if so has his attitude had any influence?”
