An event to tempt tastebuds
Freshly pressed apple juice will be on offer in the centre of Market Harborough on Saturday.
Environmental group Transition Town Harborough is staging the event in the Square and has been busily collecting apples over the past few days.
People have been invited to go along and taste the juice from a locally owned community press.
One of the organisers Gillian Baverstock said: "Even though the apple crop has been affected by the poor spring this year, particularly affecting dessert varieties, windfalls appear to be in enough supply.

"We will be demonstrating a community apple press and letting everyone sample the delicious end product.
"If people have apples spare we are happy to collect them before the event. There will also be lots of other stalls highlighting community group activities."
She said Transition Town Harborough was organising the event as part of an on going commitment to promoting a more sustainable low carbon community and lifestyle in Harborough. Last year, the apple pressing event was held in the town's Methodist Church hall but it was so popular they decided to go on the Square instead.
