The Charnwood Orchestra brings Strictly Viennese back to Barrow upon Soar.

There is clearly a taste for the famous Strauss concerts of 19th and 20th century Austria here in Barrow. So for the fourth year running, we will give you the opportunity to experience these memorable concerts right on your doorstep.

Strictly Viennese is on January 19th 2013 at Humphrey Perkins Community Centre, Cotes Rd, Barrow LE12 8JU starting at 7.00pm. We will offer you the customary free glass of bubbly or fruit juice to get you in the mood as you enter. The Hall will be decked with beautiful flower arrangements and even the players will look suitably festive. Apart from the three must-haves: Blue Danube Waltzes, Thunder and Lightning Polka and Radetsky March, the programme will include lots of old favourites (eg Pizzicato Polka and Skater's Waltz) as well as pieces new to Barrow. Don't fall off your seat when a gun is fired (not really!) in Johann Strauss II's polka "On the Hunt". And of course, you'll be expected to join in the fun! At the very least you can sing along to the waltz "Voices of Spring".
