Martyn Waghorn has vowed not to let the weight of expectation affect him after completing his big-money move to Leicester City.

When Waghorn arrived at the Walkers Stadium on loan last season he was unknown.

But after scoring 12 goals during a superb first full season at first-team level, Waghorn knows the expectation will be higher this season.

The 20-year-old, who has signed a four-year contract, said the £2 million price tag, which could rise to £3 million, would not be a burden, but he is determined to deliver for the club and justify their outlay.

"Obviously, the fans will be expecting something," he said.

"I have signed for a lot of money in the Championship, so there will be a bit of pressure there, but I have come to play football and I am not going to let it burden me.

"Obviously, I have to repay the club in some way but I am here to play football and I want to enjoy myself. Whatever happens will happen.

"I am not worried or fazed. I am only young and I know it is a lot of money but the way the football industry works these days there will be signings like this. This is just another signing for me.

"I don't take much interest in the fee, it is between the two clubs.

"As soon as I heard about the sale I didn't think about the fee, I just thought about settling in. It is just about what I can do for the team now."

The transfer came out of the blue for Waghorn. Although he admits he was stunned by the speed of the deal, he said it will not take him long to settle in at City.

"I have to think about settling and finding a place to live, because I was about to move into a new place in Sunderland with my girlfriend when I heard about this move," he added. "Luckily that didn't go through. But it should be easy because I have settled here before, I know the lads and I know Leicester. I am looking forward to it now."

Meanwhile, City midfielder Andy King will be clocking up the air miles.

After playing for Wales in their European Championship qualifier in Montenegro last night, the 21-year-old will fly out to link up with the under-21 squad in Budapest to prepare for their game against Italy in Pescara on Tuesday night.

    “D Day, Sileby
I am always positive about LCFC you cannot even name a post where I have canned our new manager or the lads in the shirt. (with the exception of Campbell).

I am very passionate about the club I support that being LCFC

I am more loyal than dopey Fred and all his aliases.

What a laugh Fred saying leave the site to US true blues.

The clown has never put a positive post on here to my knowledge.

If anyone needs a break it's us City fans from Fred.

He makes me sick with all his dissing posts.

Up the City and dump Fred with his boyfriend Campbell.”

“Fred, Keith, Rol and any Tom, Dick or Harry - no one cares who is who and if someone is an alias. Give it up.

Let's talk about football. That is the point of this forum.

Fred in your last post you claim this site is for true blues. But all you do is be negative about City. And you very first post was the only one (of many) about football.

Just look at the stats that Peter posted about strike rates. They speak for themselves. DJ might well be a good player, BUT for whatever reason he has never done it for City. So forget him, he's gone.

Try and be positive about Leicester, it's a promising few seasons ahead. And if you really don't like how things are shaping up down at the Walkers then maybe you should find a new team to support , I hear Crawley Town have a decent team this season!”

You are now renown for having sheep tendencies.
You have bben on this site dissing our players, DJ in particular.
You have dissed many fellow posters and the many you think are me know you have lost the plot old son.
You think i am Ian from whereever, Keith you need to take a break from this site , your lack of foxes knowledge is embarrassing.
You didn't even know the score the other week .
Now jog on and leave this site to us true blues.
    Pen 3 anyone?”

“You are dead right matey I have said all along that ROLL is another of Freds. ALIASES

Roll always posts straight after FRED the RED Tree boy.

Come on Fred play the game drop these dumb aliases and get behind the team.

As for calling me a sheep, I wouldn't even know where the ground was, let alone their forum.

You are the one who has been caught out posting as IAN on the trees site.

Keep the faith in Paulo and the lads we will come away from Coventry with a 3-1 victory.

So fasten your seat belt it's going to be an up and down season until Paulo sorts his team just how to play his brand of footy.

Roll get back inside FREDS big boof empty head. You are not kidding anyone on here.!!”
