Birstall Methodist Church's annual garden trail took place in and around Curzon Avenue and Roman Road.

The 16 gardens provided tremendous variety, with an abundance of flowers, trees, shrubs and water features.

There was a garden tombola, plant stall, children's treasure hunt, raffle and ice creams and teas.

About £4,000 was raised, which goes to a multiple sclerosis charity and church funds.

Rothley: The next in the series of charity whist drives organised by Derek Farr will be held at The Rothley Centre, on Mountsorrel Lane, on Thursday, July 2, starting at 7.30pm.
