Bar Restaurant service needs to be improved

“Must admit I had much the same experience the other day when the till behind the bar jammed and no one had a clue what to do. In all the kerfuffle we left without paying . . . hopefully the management won't be able to track me through this website! It really is such a shame that they don't place any importance on providing an efficient service to customers in the bar/restaurant area. If it wasn't for the fact that I use the sports facilities I wouldn't have the patience to spend half hour waiting to be served every time I visit.”

Oh dear . .

“Had lunch here the other day . . . unfortunately the service hasn't improved. It took approximately 25 minutes to order our drinks and meals - there were only four of us. There was one bar person on duty and a queue of very frustrated customers. When our drinks arrived the water for the tea was cold, the teapot was leaking and there was lipstick on the cup. The meals were nice enough, but the bread rolls were frozen in the middle and the soup portion was very small. At the end of our meal we wanted to split the bill but they were unable to provide an itemised receipt - thought this was a legal requirement. If it had been easy to complain we would have, but at the end of the day life is too short. This is such a great club in a unique and wonderful location, it's such a shame that they can't provide a good service in the restaurant. PS The chips were lovely!”

A facelift

“For those of you who use Barnsdale Hall swimming pool you will be pleased to know that the ladies changing area has had a facelift. Looks lovely and has a nice new non slip floor - a great improvement on the previous one. Very chic, good job.”

what a lovely hotel

“I came here with some friends of mine to attend a wedding in the area and i was more than impressed with the service, the staff were great and the service was second to none, i can honestly say i have not recieved better service than at this hotel, the rooms were great and the staff were ace”
