Wendy gives a trekker's view

Humberstone: The April meeting of Humberstone Women's Institutes held at Abbots Road United Reformed Church welcomed Wendy Martin with an account of her climbing activities entitled Kilimanjaro to Katmandu – A Trekkers View.

This climbing craze came about after she retired as a headmistress.

She showed slides of some of the countries she has visited, which were very daring considering she is not young but has a lot of drive and energy.

After taking up climbing on her own her husband decided to join with her so they were able to share the experiences together.

She showed a lot of her climbing equipment which looked cumbersome.
