Such hypocrisy
Vegetarians like Elizabeth Allison (Mailbox, December 31) really make my blood boil.
They blame meat-eating for every illness under the sun and jump on any bandwagon to peddle their doctrine.
As someone who works with a vegetarian that bores me and the rest of the office with her endless stories of the wonders of her diet, I tell her to stick to her nut cutlet and I will stick to my nice juicy steak or lamb chops. I agree vegetables are important to a varied healthy diet but not to the exclusion of meat.
The hypocrisy shown by many vegetarians who smoke amazes me, obviously choosing lung cancer rather than the illnesses they suspect carnivores will succumb to.

“I am a vegetarian simply because I do not like the way animals are killed not because i feel its a health problem eating meat infact i think its more of a problem to one'shealth if they don't eat meat. And i certainty do not preach to other's. Its my choice just as its another person's choice to eat meat.”

“It's always a given that single issue pressure groups such as vegetarians are disproportionally loud.”

“I agree with Mr Johnson's comments. I work with a lady who had been told by her GP that she needs to eat red meat on a regular basis due to health issues. (Her husband is a vegetarian incidentally.)”

“Hypocracy? Just trying to cause a little less harm and suffering to others. Meat is not essential to a healthy diet.”
