Will judges take on board this surfing picture?
Hundreds of people have entered the Mercury's Reflections photographic competition.
Among them is reader John Nowell, who is hoping the judges will like this shot of surf action. John entered his picture of the surfer on the crest of wave on the "Severn bore".
John, of Oakham, took the stunning shot last year as people congregated to watch and ride the "bore" which comes with the spring tide.
John said: "It was beautiful morning and we were in a churchyard sipping coffee and eating bacon sandwiches just waiting for the bore to arrive.

"I had wanted to take some shots of surfers riding the bore for quite a while, so it was great to finally be there. It was very atmospheric with the morning mist and the silence, which was broken by the very loud noise this bore made.
"When the Mercury announced the Reflections competition I thought this picture would do quite nicely.
"I did not expect there to be a reflection on the shot, but I am glad there is."
The competition winner will receive £100 in vouchers from the sponsors, Jessops.
The entries have now closed and are being judged.
The winner will be announced in tomorrow's Mercury.
