Sally Kowal, marketing officer for Leicestershire County Council, said: "Lots of people turned up and sampled lots of the lovely food."
Highlights of the fortnight, which runs until October 7, include a gourmet food evening at Hothorpe Hall, near Market Harborough, a food fair at Rockingham Castle and a food festival in Coalville.
