Anthony Knockaert's recent dazzling displays for Leicester City have left opponents guessing what the little French magician is going to conjure up next.

The France under-21 international has a wide array of tricks which have delighted City fans and fooled defenders.

However, David Nugent said opponents aren't the only ones trying to guess what Knockaert is going to do and admitted his own team-mates also struggle to guess.

"We don't know what he is going to do," said Nugent. "It could be seven step-overs or a back-heel.

"We have to work around him. He is a young lad who has come into the side and he has shown his abilities on the pitch.

"As he has shown, he has something special about him. He gets the fans going. Any little trick the fans love.

"I don't think there has been a flare player like him at this club for a long time and Anthony fits the bill perfectly.

"If he keeps playing like that I am sure he will go a long way in the game."

Nugent said he was caught out by Knockaert's ability to produce something from nothing in the first half of the 2-0 victory over Bristol City at the King Power Stadium.

Just when the opportunity to deliver a cross looked lost, Knockaert clipped an inviting ball in for Nugent, which was begging to be put away, but the striker headed over.

He made amends a minute later with the opening goal, but admitted he should have scored with the header. I wasn't expecting that cross from Anthony," he said.

"With the tricks he has got, I thought he was going to come up with something special and get a shot away. I didn't expect it but I did put my next chance away.

"He is a handful to play with. As the fans sing, he plays where he wants.

"Sometimes he does roam out of position, which can cause our team problems.

"But, with the ability he has on the ball, you know he is going to create something for you."

“Having the creativity that AK provides is really important in the championship. Teams with a creative/unpredictable/goal scoring midfielder often climb to the higher reaches of the championship... QPR - Adel Taarabt, Blackpool - Charlie Adam/ Ince, Cardiff - Whittingham, West Ham - Nolan, etc... It's hard to convince savants to come to the championship, unless they are embarking on their career, or have been relegated with a team. Thus their class shines through.

AK joined Leicester because he wanted to play games, hopefully with that mindset he will stay with us for a few years.”

“Ronaldo took time to settle, so has the likes of Torres, Henry, Messi, Ronaldinho, Caca etc.

Knockaert will have his off days when he plays more like a normal Championship player, but with the undoubted talent he displays I can understand that opposition and team-mates alike will not be able to read him,

To Nugent I would just say do your own thing and let Knockaert supply, to all team-mates I would simply say give him the ball but do not give him suicide passes- we do not want him crippled- and then get into space to help him.

At last our players can make second and third phase runs with some expectation of getting the ball and we are starting to look worthy of our top of the league position.

Start playing for the fourth fifth and sixth phases with speed of first time passes and clarity of runs into space with those not involved consolidating against the breakdown by always giving us the option of slowing it down by going backwards or across the park, and we will be worthy of the Premiership.

Until we use the backpass to Schmeichel as an emergency rather than a tactic, and until he has runners making the space short for him to pass to, we will still keep bypassing the midfield by the log hesh upfield 905 of which sipmly give possession away.

If a midfielder can clip a ball long from inside the opposition half for a forward to run onto and elects not to do to keep possession, why do we still insist in this country of four passes later giving it back to the Keeper to kick long and give it away anyway??

    My only criticism of Kasper.”

“He caused loads of problems for Birmingham and 2 players got booked for chopping him down.
A real talent that we havent had in a while.
He gives the attack another dimension. King is playing better now the pressure isnt on him to get in the box all the time. Things are working well.”
