Worthy of praise

May I offer a few words of praise to all the young swimmers and their coaches and parents representing Enderby Swimming Club, Junior League (nine to 12 years old).

I recently attended a gala competition at Nuneaton to support my nine-year-old grandson and was impressed by the behaviour, attitude and dedication of these fine young people (including those members of the five opposing teams).

How satisfying to see so many people enjoying the friendly rivalry and comradeship of a shared interest that will go a long way towards producing fit, healthy and socially aware future citizens.

A special mention and thanks must go to all the coaches/trainers who volunteer so much of their own time to develop these young swimmers.

Roll on the 2016 and 2020 Olympics!
