There's a flying horse in Loughborough. He's just one of the spellbinding special effects in Imagine Theatre's spectacular production of the best loved pantomime of them all, Cinderella.

A small professional cast and a young, talented, 30-strong ensemble deliver a dazzling show of pure panto entertainment for the whole family.

This new production is full of pacey music, mayhem and, of course, the customary mess, most of which was deposited on a member of the audience in a hilarious 'health club' sketch.

Innovative use of pyrotechnics heralded each entrance of an enchanting and very modern Fairy Godmother ( Laura Selwood) offering her magical services to Cinderella, endearingly played by Alice Mogg.

Buttons' (Charlie Guest) instant rapport with the cheering audience proved that there is still life in the corniest of jokes!

Emily Latham made a charming prince while Sally Peerless introduced a comic character twist as Dandini. Inevitably the lion's share of laughs, hisses and boos involved the Ugly Sisters, Halitosia and Odouria played by the irrepressible Martin Ballard and Pablo Raybould respectively. Their comic interplay and adlibbing was pure genius.

Technical wizardry produced some amazing special effects including an incredible flying white winged stallion sequence that has to be seen to be believed!

A truly superb show. If you can only visit one pantomime this year make sure you head for Loughborough.
