You'll dig archaeology festival
More than 40 events have been planned across Leicestershire and Rutland as part of a national archaeology festival.
Between July 18 and August 2, people can find out more about the two counties' history at The Festival of Leicestershire and Rutland Archaeology. Main events will be at the Jewry Wall Museum, Donington Le Heath Manor House and Rutland County Museum.
Smaller events have been organised around the rest of the county.
Leicester has a history of archaeological discoveries, including one recently of two Roman skeletons in Birstall. More than 5,500 silver and gold coins were found in Hallaton, near Market Harborough, in 2003.
An information leaflet about the festival is available at museums, libraries and tourist information centres.
