Welcome to Big Johns Auto Centre, Leicester's premier clutch and gear box centre. We have been established since 1991 previously under the Mr Clutch franchise, we went independent in 2002 branding the garage as Big Johns Auto Centre.

We are based in the City Centre of Leicester, specialising in car, fleet cars and light commercial vehicles.

We provide servicing and MOTs, Mechanical repairs, Engine Tuning, manual gearbox repairs, brakes, clutches, suspension.

We offer a while you wait service or we can offer you a courtesy car only if we have one available, towing can be arranged if your car will not make it to the garage.

Brakes Leicester

We have some of the greatest mechanics in Leicester working for Big Johns Auto Centre, we have a vast stock of brakes and if you require a particular set of brake calipers or brake pads that we do not have in stock then we can have it ordered in with in a couple of days.

If you are worried about your brakes then you can book the car in for a brake maintenance check. Having fully working brakes are very important, if they are faulty your car will not stop as quickly and it could be the differences between crashing into another car or not.

Servicing

When your car is due for an MOT it is vital you book your car in for a service so you are not wasting time and money if something cases the car the fail, even if it is just a faulty bulb, depending on how much you use your car we advise you book your car in for a service at least once a year to make sure your car runs smoothly without any problems. We provide servicing for cars and light commercial vehicles as well as fleet servicing.

Clutches

We have been replacing clutches in Leicester since the early 90s. We will repair or replace your clutch with the genuine parts unless we strongly believe a better part can be used.

Gear Boxes

As well as clutches we specialise in gear boxes. If your car has a problem with the gear box such as it does not go into reverse or a certain gear or it just does not work full stop then book it in with Big Johns so we can take a look. Even if you think it needs replacing we may be able to fix it.

We are open Monday Friday 08:30 17:30 and Saturday 08:30 13:00, closed Sunday.
