Houghton Garage is a local landmark at a convenient village stopping point on the A47 Leicester to Peterborough road .


Established at Houghton-on-the Hill in 1975 by mechanical engineer Jim Funnell, initially a one-man outfit, Houghton Garage has grown into a well-known local concern with the addition of the Jet petrol forecourt and more recently, Jimmys Deli and General Store.


A general service and repair specialist, Houghton Garage has, over the years, also earned an international reputation for the restoration and repair of Morris Minor cars .


We are still a first choice for the servicing, maintenance and TLC of these vintage pride and joys, but with fewer Morris Minors now on the road, the focus has naturally shifted towards the needs of more modern vehicles.

MEET THE STAFF
Working with proprietor Jim Funnell are Senior Administrator Pete Osborne and two further skilled, long-experienced mechanics in Martin Wright, and Trevor Simpson, with 25 years and 12 years in the trade respectively. On reception with a smile is local employee Lucy Cross. Katie Boar manages the convenience store, sourcing and organizing incoming stock and sales. The garage is a well-known part-time local employer for village recruits, who are often students looking for suitable work that fits in with their study.
