Soon, after defiling our world and making it inhabitable, we will have to leave and seek a new living space throughout the cosmos, probably damaging other planets as we've done to ours, starting with the moon.

Maybe other beings out there are doing the same thing.

Also on a similar theme; reading a letter recently in Mailbox baffled me on its contradiction of David Attenborough's thoughts on human misuse of the Earth.

I found it incredible that some people believe the world is not becoming overpopulated and there is enough food to go around.

Are they on the same planet?

Seeing how we're interfering with and abusing nature at an alarming rate now, brings to mind the words of that old philosopher Lau Tzu:

"The Universe is sacred,

You cannot improve it,

If you try to change it you will ruin it,

If you try to hold it you will lose it."

Gordon Newton, Leicester.

“Qute agree. Very depressing programme on ch 4 last night; now we are plundering the oceans for krill, the staple foodstuff of penguins, whales etc so that we can turn it into food for farmed salmon and vitamin pills for ourselves. Big bucks and to hell with the eco system!!”
